Welcome! We are Kingsview Animal Hospital, opened by Dr. Roger Hart and operated by a dedicated staff of highly trained professionals.

 

Established in 1988, we have spent three decades providing services to families in the Alexandria area.

Our animal hospital is clean, comfortable, and convenient, with your pet’s needs at the forefront of everything we do. Pets and their families are our number-one priority. We know what you and your pet need, because we are pet owners, too!

 

We specialize in the care and treatment of cats and dogs, and have a range of services available at our facility.

Our expertise ranges from therapeutic services to preventive exams to acupuncture.

Meet the Team

Elissa Thorndike, DVM

Dr. Thorndike is originally from outside of New York City but spent almost a decade in Colorado, enjoying all the Rocky Mountains have to offer. She received her DVM at Colorado State University, returning back east to complete an internship at Southpaws Veterinary Center, and yes she is a lefty. The last 20 years have been spent working at a busy practice in NOVA while raising her 2 children Evan and Milly and caring for a multitude of rescued critters. When away from work you can find her in a kayak, a hiking trail, or volunteering with a local rescue group. 

Christiana Grim, DVM
Dr. Grim grew up in Northern Virginia. She received her DVM from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, in Blacksburg, VA. Dr. Grim interests and experience are in Conservation Medicine and Clinical Practice. After post doctoral work in Hawaii she returned to Virginia and has been a member of the Kingsview Family since 2009. At home, Dr. Grim enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and son. They share their home with their two cats, Tin-Tin and Snowy, and their South African Mastiff, Georgia.
 
Kristin Wolf, Practice Manager

 

For over 20 years, Kristin has worked in the veterinary industry throughout the Mid-Atlantic region from New York City to Virginia. In addition to veterinary medicine and animal care, Kristin has worked in film/television production and has a degree from New York University.  She is passionate about building and strengthening relationships between pet parents and their pets' medical professionals. 

 

Kristin is thrilled to be a part of the Kingsview Animal Hospital family and looks forward to meeting you and your fur babies! If you ever have any concerns or suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out to Kristin directly. 

 

Jessica Ozl, LVT

 

Jessica grew up in Northern Virginia and has always had a passion for animals. She has worked with everything from pocket pets, exotics, cats and dogs, to large farm animals.  Her interest in animals started while she was in high school working as a kennel assistant. From their she went onto study Biology at Keuka College where she did her first animal internship in small animals. She then completed a second internship with large animals, and new that the veterinary field was for her.

 

Jessica currently lives with her crazy coonhound Addie and freshwater fish. When Jessica is not working with animals, she likes to spend her time hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is also working towards getting her veterinary technician license.

Nor Bonilla

 

Nor as born and raised in Virginia. She always knew she wanted to work with animals since she was a child. She first started in the veterinary field at an emergency hospital back in 2014, and loved every minute of it. Helping patients recover and seeing them go back home is an indescribable feeling. She switched it up and went to general practice to gain more knowledge about general patient care and prevention. When she is not working she am a full time mother to an amazing 6 year old boy named Anthony. They enjoy their free time by spending time outside, going hiking, riding bikes and playing with their pit bull mix Chola. Anthony is growing up to love animals just like his mom, and carries his hamster Oso everywhere. 

Jessica Hoy, LVT

Jessica was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She always knew she wanted to work with animals. In 2018, she graduated from Northern Virginia Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program. She enjoys all aspects of her job, but getting to know new people and their beloved pets is one of her favorites. Jessica and her fiancé share their home with their 2 dogs Lexi and Buddy, 3 cats Smokey, Chloe, Asher and guinea pig Zeus. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and hiking.

Samantha Hicks

Sam was born and raised right here in Alexandria, Virginia and attended Hayfield High School. She is currently enrolled at Strayer University in the Criminal Justice program. Ever since she was little, she has had a love for animals. In her free time she enjoys relaxing and watching tv or going out on hikes with friends.

Jodi Fenwick

Jodi and her Husband moved to Virginia from the Midwest. She joined Kingsview in 2019. Her love of animals started at an early age when her family found a cat and decided to give him a home. Since then she has always had a cat, occasionally some mice, a fish or two, and a bird. Jodi is very excited to be a part of the Kingsview family, and grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn more about animals.

Jocelyn DiMichele

Jocelyn moved to Virginia and joined the Kingsview team in October 2020. She is originally from Alaska and moved to Virginia from North Carolina. She has had a passion for working with animals since she started as a kennel technician in 2012. Her favorite part of working in the Veterinary field is getting to know her clients and patients and providing them with the best care she can. She is currently enrolled in Penn Fosters Veterinary Technician Program and cannot wait to broaden her skills and knowledge to better help her patients. While she is not working she loves spending time with her husband, black lab Geronimo, and plott hound Fury.

I have been taking my Yorkies there for the past 10-plus years and have nothing but the finest comments to say about their doctors and staff. Their doctors have always been forthcoming about any treatment before it is done and answered ALL questions. Their staff have always been kind, friendly, and very courteous.
